Award-Winning Technology Solution Ensures Peace of Mind for Users by Providing On-Demand Legal Guidance to Drivers and De-escalating Police Interactions

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — September 27, 2021

TurnSignl, a first-of-its-kind tele-legal solution for drivers, announced today that Twin Cities Startup Week has named the company the winner of two prestigious awards: the 2021 Startup of the Year Award and the Inclusion Evolution Award. TurnSignl was recognized for their innovative solution that bridges the gap between law enforcement and drivers, as well as for their commitment to creating a more inclusive, safe, thoughtful, and engaging space in the Minnesota startup community.

How TurnSignl Works

When a driver is in a car accident or stopped by law enforcement, they launch TurnSignl with one click or a voice command. The app immediately begins recording and connects the driver to an attorney over video call in real-time, 24/7/365. The attorney provides legal guidance and uses certified de-escalation techniques to reduce anxiety for everyone involved. After the interaction, a recording of the encounter is stored in the users’ cloud.

“Winning both the Startup of the Year Award and the Inclusion Evolution Award here in Minnesota means so much to us. Not just because it’s our home, but because it is the epicenter of a social movement that speaks to our mission,” said Jazz Hampton, CEO and General Counsel at TurnSignl. “The last year really challenged us to grow quickly, but we’re excited about what we hear every day from app users, from our attorney partners, and from law enforcement officers that confirms we are making people feel safer on the road and being true to our mission. We’re ready to see where the next year takes us.”

TurnSignl is also actively partnering with enterprise industry leaders and businesses of all sizes to provide their service as a workplace benefit, helping companies support their most valuable resource — their workforce — in the moments that matter most. Recent partnerships with Brother Justus and Mendota Health have demonstrated an easy alignment with companies that want to create a more equitable future, especially for their employees.

TurnSignl’s impressive expansion has already brought the app online in three new states this year and put them on track to support users in all states nationally by 2022. To contact TurnSignl about a business partnership, contact mfrelix@turnsignl.com.

Access for Everyone

There are roughly 125 million Americans living paycheck to paycheck, leaving countless people unable to access much-needed legal support. For those who cannot afford the monthly fee, TurnSignl offers free lifetime subscriptions with no strings attached. This is thanks to generous businesses, philanthropists, and others who donate to the TurnSignl Foundation. At the end of the day, TurnSignl’s founders want to put high-quality legal guidance in the hands of every driver, and to remove barriers for those that stand to benefit most from the service.

The TurnSignl app is available for download for iOS or Android today. For more information, visit turnsignl.com or contact the team directly at info@turnsignl.com.
